Argarwane and Three return to Algoria. Argarwane feels the need to take on some of his kingly duties. He sets sail for the Misty Kingdom at the request of King Antoban Heroldi. Three heads to the tavern (at his disgust) to find some worthy companions if there are any. He meets Gauthak. This goliath barbarian has been looking for his friends who were with Argarwane (what a small world). He joins Three. As they leave town, Thalion approaches them. He wishes to rejoin the group since it would be what Chigaru would want. Three says he can do what he chooses. They head for Bael Turath.
Once in the tented city outside of the ruins, they meet a shadowy figure who warns them about the White Lantern Consortium. He then ducks into the tavern. They are met by an eladrin who poses a quest. If they recover a power source for the lava falls in the ruins, they will be rewarded. They decline and also stated that they were warned of a White Lantern Consortium. The eladrin signals two others and they head for the tavern. She leaves. The PCs hear something and head for the tavern. The stranger from earlier had thrown the two assassins from the tavern and sheathed his sword. He introduced himself as Shadow, a bodyguard sent by Kord. He joins the PCs.
In the ruins of Vor Rukoth, the PCs meet three highly decorated dragonborn known as Arkhosia’s Last. They were hunting remaining tieflings in the ruins. The PCs discussed how they were merely here on other business and would support the dragonborn if the time came. They continued on to the Varrik estate where Nathaniel Varrik resides. He holds a family secret to the evil in Vor Rukoth. He declined to tell them so they offered to do a service for him. They were asked to rid the dragonborn and tieflings from the area around the estate. They meet a group of tielfings who swear to protect the evil secret of the ruins.
3 Tiefling Shadowblades
The dragonborn show up to finish the job. The PCs ask them to leave the area at the request of Nathaniel Varrik. They do so seeing that the PCs are against the tielfings.
Nathaniel Varrik is now more pleased with the group. He tells them that the old ruler, Najala has created an evil entity beneath the city. He will tell them where if they return a ruby dragon statuette from the lavafalls. They agree and head out. On the way, the run into the Demonforge. They fail to disable the forge and dozens of demons pour from it forcing the PCs to retreat and find another way around. They meet a group of tielfings and dragonborn fighting on a cliffside bridge.
Thalion attacks the tielfings. “Why are you attacking us?!” screams a tiefling.
“You defend the evil that resides within this cursed ruins,” shouts Thalion.
“We do no such thing! We are not members of that cult. We only seek to rebuild the empire of our people!”
The dragonborn shout, “They are tieflings nonetheless! Attack them, brothers!”
Three decides against it. “They are merely men trying to rebuild their lost heritage. We cannot engage in genocide for the sake of your cause, dragonborn.” The others agree. The PCs are forced to defend the tieflings. Thalion disagrees and attacks the tieflings regardless. The party is split in combat.
Three makes multiple attempts to restrain Thalion. He teleports him and tries to pin him down. Thalion is relentless against the tieflings though. Three has no choice and attacks. They battle until Thalion is knocked unconscious. The others defeat the dragonborn soldiers. Three revives Thalion.
“It seems we are not on the same page, Three. I believe now is my time. Farewell.” Thalion leaves the party.
