The PCs awake from their extended rest at their camp in the desert. Argarwane is missing something. A note was left behind. “No need for a Bag of Holding. The blessings of my god will be enough. Yours truly, Quinn” The PCs were pissed but Three realizes they were doomed for payback. They continue into the desert, coming to a large, impassable ridge. A lone rock stands at the base. A quick Arcana check discovers that their is strong magic in the area. Vengeance attempts to move the rock and he falls right through it. It was covering a doorway that leads down underneath the ridge. The PCs follow.
This dungeon is much cooler than the desert above. Around some corners the PCs notice large holes in the floor leading down into darkness. The adventurers make their way into a large room. The doors slam shut and seal with magic as the ceiling begins to cave in. The PCs dodge most of the falling rocks and disable the doors, making it out of the trapped room with little damage taken.
The next stop is a room with unfinished walls and a large pile of rock and earth on one end. Vengeance can sense their closeness to the tiefling lands and fears they may be in for more than first expected here.

8 Legion Devil Hellguards
Chain devils lash out, restraining Thalion in their chains. Using a variation of turn undead on these immortal creatures, Three steps forward. A quick prayer to Haramathur and Three raises his holy symbol while a flash of light covers the room. The 8 Legion Devil Hellguards disappear in the blinding light and it throws the remaining enemies to the far wall dealing massive damage. The fight suddenly looks more in favor of our adventurers. They finish the fight with relative ease.
The PCs make their way into a room with large holes in the walls. They lead out and then down into darkness. Thalion descends one of the tunnels. The PCs wait for word but a basilisk emerges from another hole.
Treasure: 2000gp, Pennant Helm
Thalion activates his winged boots and flies back up to the battle. Eventually, three basilisks are in the room. In a sad turn of events, Vengeance and Argarwane become petrified. Three and Thalion finish off the basilisks and are left drained. An extended rest is taken while they figure out their next step.
Thalion remembers a letter containing a ritual that was, “to be used in the time of most dire need.” He performs it. Petendithas Oaklord, the wizard from Stallcroft appears in a cloud of smoke. “Hello, my friends! Oh my! Your friends are stone! Here, take this.” He hands them a scroll of the Remove Affliction ritual. It is performed by Three successfully and the two only took some damage in the physically taxing ritual. All four heroes head to the final room of the dungeon.
2 Helmed Horrors
The sphinx poses a riddle to each player. Only Vengeance answers incorrectly. The creature smiles and fades into darkness and three humanoid warriors step out of the shadows and attack. The sphinx reappears behind the PCs and attacks. The three warriors are taken out first and then the group descends upon the sphinx, overwhelming it.
They find a magic weapon, the dynamic bastard sword, in a pile of skeletons. They continue out of the dungeon and back into the desert. Thalion has been fed up with this side quest. He was sent to find Starfire and he believes they should be on that track. The group has a quarrel and Thalion ends up leaving. He takes off for Algoria. The others head on towards Bael Turath. A tented city appears up ahead and the PCs enter it, realizing suddenly that it was a mirage and created by a group of devils who approach. “What have you to offer for your lives?” they ask.
“We have nothing to offer yet we are not without the ability to defend ourselves,” speaks Three.
“You, dragonborn. You are no dragonborn but rather a tiefling. This much we know. In exchange for your friends lives, you shall come with us. Return to your former glory as a tiefling warrior.”
Vengeance, in an astonishing turn of events, agrees. The devils disappear with him, leaving only Argarwane and Three in the desert. They decide at this time to turn back and return to Algoria.
